-As the Stony Brook University (SBU) Site Director and Deputy Center Director, Dr. Arie E. Kaufman will manage all of the site activities at Stony Brook University including working with the industrial members and researchers, coordination with the Industrial Advisory Board and other sites; and overseeing the efforts of the Site Managing Director. For more than 17 years, Kaufman has served as the chair of the Department of Computer Science at Stony Brook University. Kaufman’s primary research thrusts for CVDI are focused on data visualization and data applications. +Arie E. He also held posts at the Hebrew University, Tel-Aviv University, Florida International University, Ben-Gurion University, and Columbia University.\\

Dr. Kaufman developed the Reality Deck, a 1.5 billion-pixel immersive display which is the largest resolution immersive visualization facility ever built, enabling visual analytics of big data. +
